Cherry Blossom Maternity Photos in Millburn, NJ

There’s something about cherry blossom season that makes everything feel a little more magical. For a few short weeks each spring, the trees burst into soft pink blooms right after a cold winter. This creates one of the most beautiful natural backdrops for photos.

This maternity session took place in the middle of peak cherry blossom season, when the Kwanzan cherry petals were at their fullest. The light was soft, the blossoms were glowing and it felt like the perfect setting to celebrate such an exciting time for this growing family.

One of the things I love most about photographing maternity sessions outdoors is how relaxed they can feel. We take our time, walk through the trees, cuddle up on a blanket and let the moment unfold naturally. Those in-between moments often become the most intimate.

Cherry blossom season is also one of the shortest photography windows of the year. The blooms typically last 1-2 weeks depending on the weather, which is part of what makes it so special.

Because this season is so fleeting, I offer a limited number of Cherry Blossom Mini Sessions each spring. They’re perfect for maternity photos, families with young kids, siblings and seniors looking to capture this beautiful time of year.

If you’ve been thinking about updating family photos or documenting your pregnancy, spring blossoms create such a memorable setting.

Cherry Blossom Mini Sessions

Each year I photograph these sessions in one of my favorite local parks when the trees are in peak bloom (and it’s not quite as populated as Branch Brook Park). Availability is limited since the blossom window is short.
