Maplewood NJ Family Photographer | An Intimate Backyard Vow Renewal

The flowers (some of their own and special ones created by local fave Brave Floral) were showing off for this Maplewood backyard vow renewal. Every corner of their yard seemed to be bursting with color, creating the perfect setting for an intimate anniversary celebration at home.

Rather than a large event, this renewal was relaxed, cozy, and completely true to this fun family. One of the sweetest parts was that their three daughters got to be part of the experience. It gave them a chance to witness something they hadn't been there for the first time around, their wedding.

Each daughter brought her own personality to it. One scattered flower petals down the pathway. Another relished the opportunity to dress up with high heels and makeup for the first time. The youngest was content with just her lollipop.

Between the flowers, the handwritten notes, and the quiet moments together, the afternoon felt less like an event and more like a family memory developing in real time. There was no rushing and no pressure. It was just a celebration of the big life they’ve built together and their family at the center of it.

What an honor to document this anniversary and to capture these moments through pictures. Years from now, I hope these photos inspire their daughters’ future weddings.
