I love this time of year for family photos. The leaves start changing, the light gets gorgeous, and within a flash the holidays are right around the corner.
If you're thinking about updating your family photos this fall, I’m offering mini sessions at three of my favorite local spots, plus a new November mini with a festive evergreen setting that I’ll be sharing more about soon.
Why Book a Mini Session?
Not every family needs a full session every year. Sometimes you just want a few updated photos because the kids have grown, because Grandma would love them, or because you’re worried the kids won’t make it through a full session.
Maybe you need a photo for your holiday card, or maybe you just want to make sure you’re actually in the photo this year.
That’s why I love minis. They’re short, simple and still give us time for a few classic portraits and the playful, connected photos I love. I’ll guide you through it, so you don’t have to worry about posing.

Maplewood Memorial Park | September 26
If you're looking for fall family photos in Maplewood, NJ, Memorial Park is one of my favorite spots.
With gorgeous trees, open green space, bridges and plenty of room for kids to move, it’s a beautiful setting for fall family photos during morning light. We’ll get the classic family portrait, but I’ll also give your kids plenty of room to be themselves and capture those playful, natural photos I love.
And because it’s right here in Maplewood, it’s an easy choice for families from Maplewood, South Orange and the surrounding area.
South Mountain Reservation | October 18
If you love a more natural, wooded backdrop, South Mountain Reservation is a beautiful setting for fall family photography at golden hour.
The changing leaves and natural surroundings give these sessions a warm, cozy feel, with plenty of opportunities to play in the leaves, too.
It's also a great option if you're looking for family photos near Millburn, Maplewood, South Orange or West Orange.
Verona Park | October 25
For families looking for fall family photos at Verona Park during the afternoon, this is such a beautiful spot with pretty pops of color.
With the water, bridges and colorful trees, it’s a beautiful backdrop for both traditional family portraits and the playful photos filled with all the connection that makes them so memorable and meaningful.
It’s a favorite for families from Montclair, Verona and surrounding Essex County towns.
Holiday Evergreen | November 15
For families looking for holiday mini sessions in Northern NJ, I’m excited to offer something new this year: a simple, festive outdoor setting surrounded by holiday greenery at a local location (close to SOMA) that I’ll be announcing soon.
I’m keeping these minis intentionally simple, with the focus on you and your family. And if you’re rushing to get those holiday cards out, you’ll love the one-week turnaround on your edited images.
